A native of Long Island, Rachel Flatley's (Formerly Cronemeyer) passion for baking started at a young age. She was drawn to the kitchen and would spend hours preparing scrumptious treats for her family and friends.
In 2009 she moved out onto the North Fork of Long Island and quickly fell in love with the serene atmosphere, beautiful beaches, and bountiful farms. Shortly after moving, Rachel began her internship at the highly acclaimed North Fork Table and Inn, working under the James Beard Award Winning Pastry Chef Claudia Fleming. She worked alongside Claudia for 3 1/2 years, adapting her simplistic and elegant style of desserts. After the North Fork Table, she immersed herself in the food & wine culture of the North Fork by working at Jedediah Hawkins, Kontokosta Winery, Croteaux Vineyards, and The Frisky Oyster. She also became an Adjunct Chef Instructor for Suffolk County Community College's Baking and Pastry Arts Program, where she is able to hone her craft and inspire others in the field. Rachel holds an AAS in Baking & Pastry Arts from Suffolk County Community College and a BBA in Restaurant Management from SUNY Delhi. Along with Rachel Cronemeyer Cakes & Confections, Rachel is the Executive Pastry Chef for Honest Man Restaurants, which includes Nick and Toni's in East Hampton, Rowdy Hall, La Fondita, Townline BBQ, and Honest Catering. Each of her pastries reflect her simple, clean, and elegant style. |
